Meet Wild Ember: Fire, Food and Good Company

Some of the best evenings begin with a simple plan: something to cook, a few people to share it with and time to stay outside a little longer. The meal becomes part of the gathering, and conversation carries on after the plates are cleared.

Wild Ember brings that idea into one outdoor centrepiece. Made locally in the Blue Mountains, Wimlah’s steel fire pit combines a sliding cooking grill and hotplate with a fire bowl, bringing food and the atmosphere of an open fire together.

From the first ingredients to the last conversation

Cooking outside has its own rhythm. There is time to prepare ingredients, watch the coals and enjoy the company around you. Wild Ember gives the meal a place at the centre of the evening.

The sliding grill and hotplate provide two cooking surfaces, with a cooking area of 300 × 550 mm. When the cooking is finished, the surface can be moved aside so the fire becomes the focus. Follow the product’s operating instructions when handling or moving components during use.

Think of a relaxed meal built around a few favourites: vegetables, skewers or something simple to share. The appeal is in keeping the gathering easy, with the cooking part of the experience.

Steel, made for the outdoors

Wild Ember is constructed from 4 mm steel and measures 700 × 500 mm overall. Its flat-pack design brings a practical approach to the form, while the raw steel gives the piece a character that changes with use.

Over time, the surface develops a weathered patina. That changing appearance is part of raw steel’s material character and gives each fire pit its own look. Expect the finish to evolve rather than remain exactly as it appeared on its first day.

A different side of Wimlah

Wimlah’s shelves create places for the objects we use and enjoy indoors. Wild Ember carries that interest in everyday living outside, creating a place around which people can gather.

Made locally in the Blue Mountains, it shares the range’s emphasis on steel and purposeful design. Here, the function is a shared meal, a fire and an evening spent in good company.

Plan the space around the fire

Give the setting as much thought as the meal. Arrange seating with comfortable separation from the heat and keep the space around the fire clear. A nearby table for ingredients and serving dishes can help the evening feel organised without making it formal.

Wild Ember is suitable for wood or charcoal. Always use it on a stable, non-combustible surface and follow local fire restrictions and the product’s instructions.

Keep fires moderate and contained within the fire bowl. Oversized fires and prolonged extreme heat can cause the steel to warp. A good evening around the fire does not need a large blaze.

Make room for a slower evening

There is pleasure in a gathering that does not need much of an agenda. Prepare a meal, pull up a seat and let the conversation find its own pace.

Wild Ember brings the cooking and the fire into one considered piece—ready to become part of the way you spend time outdoors.
